Getting started

Dual IRL Bro watches your streams and chats for you. It does not stream, and it never uses your camera or mic.

Bro is the companion to Dual IRL Stream, and it works on its own too. Use it on a second phone to see how your stream looks, read all your chat in one list and have it read aloud. It can show up to four streams at once. Bro cannot send chat messages.

Install the app

  1. On your Android phone, open dualirl.com/bro and tap Download for Android. You need Android 11 or newer.
  2. Open the file when it finishes and allow your browser to install apps if your phone asks.
  3. On Android 13 or newer, Bro asks to send notifications when you first open it. It still works if you say no, but the notice that shows while it runs in the background may not appear.

Bro does not install updates for you. It tells you when a newer version is out and takes you to the download page. See App updates.

The first time you open it

You see No streams yet. Tiles are always muted.

Add a channel

  1. Tap the Settingsbutton at the top right, then Channel settings.
  2. Under Monitored channels, tap the Addbutton.
  3. Choose Kick, Twitch, YouTube, Rumble or Custom URL and fill in the box. What each one needs is in the table below.
  4. Tap Add, then go back with the back arrow.
ChoiceWhat to type
KickYour channel name, the part after kick.com/. A leading @ is ignored.
TwitchYour channel name, the part after twitch.tv/. A leading @ or # is ignored.
YouTubeYour handle without the @, for example the part after youtube.com/@. Video needs nothing else. Chat, viewers and uptime need a free YouTube key, see YouTube chat.
RumbleYour secret Live Stream API link from rumble.com/account/livestream-api. It must start with https://. You can add only one Rumble entry, and Bro never shows the link again.
Custom URLA stream address that starts with https:// and ends in .m3u8, and an optional label. Custom streams show video only, with no viewers, uptime or chat.

A channel that is offline is still added. Its tile says Offline, and the video starts by itself when the channel goes live. Kick and Twitch chat connect right away. YouTube chat starts once a live video is found. A custom URL has no chat. You can monitor up to four channels. They appear in the order you added them, and you can only reorder them by removing one and adding it again. To remove a channel, tap the bin button next to it in Channel settings. It does not ask first.

What you see

Held upright, the video tiles are on top and chat is below. Held sideways, tiles and the three buttons are on the left and chat is on the right. The buttons and what they do are in Controls and gestures.
