Dual IRL Stream is an Android app that streams from your phone, with the front and back cameras on screen at once or one at a time. This page takes you from install to your first stream.
Install the app
- On your Android phone, open dualirl.com/stream and tap Download for Android. You need Android 11 or newer.
- Open the file when it finishes. Your phone may ask you to allow your browser to install apps. Allow it, then tap Install.
- To update later, install the new file over the old one. Your settings stay. The app can also update itself, see App updates.
There is also a Beta build on the same page. It installs as a separate app next to the normal one, gets changes sooner and may be less stable.
The first time you open it
The app asks for your camera and microphone. Until you allow the camera, you see a screen that says Camera access is required to preview. Microphone is requested for streaming later. Tap Grant camera + mic and allow both. The app runs sideways (landscape).
Add where you stream to
A saved destination is called a profile. You need one before you can go live. Your streaming service shows the address and key for it.
- Tap the
button, then Stream profiles.
- Type a Profile name. This is the name you will see above Go Live.
- Pick the Protocol your service uses: RTMP, RTMPS or SRT.
- Paste the address into the box under it. For RTMP and RTMPS, also paste your Stream key. For SRT, add a Stream ID or passphrase only if your service gave you one.
- Tap Save.
The starting choices are 1920×1080, 30 fps, 4500 kbps and H.265 / HEVC. They suit most services. If yours does not take HEVC over plain RTMP, switch Codec to H.264 / AVC or use SRT. Every option is explained in the Settings reference.
Go live
Back on the main screen, the profile name shows above the Go Live button, like ▸ dualirl-ingest-srt. Tap Go Live and confirm. The pill at the top left changes to 🔴 LIVE and starts counting. To stop, tap End stream and confirm. The full steps, including privacy mode and what happens when your connection drops, are in Going live.
