Find your problem below. Where the app shows a message, the message is quoted exactly.
Go Live is greyed out
You see Set a server URL in Settings above the button. Your active profile is missing something. Open Settings → Stream profiles and check:
- The profile has a name and an address.
- Bitrate is above zero.
- For SRT, a passphrase is blank or between 10 and 79 characters.
- Under the SRT fields there is no warning. A space or an & in your Stream ID or passphrase shows a warning, and so do characters such as | { } \ ^ < > and quote marks.
The Save button stays off until all of that is right.
The pill says Failed
The app could not connect and stopped trying. The reason is in red in the stats panel at the top right. The usual causes are a wrong address, a wrong key or a server that is not running. Fix it in Stream profiles and go live again.
If you were already live and your phone loses its internet, you do not get Failed. The app keeps showing Reconnecting and resumes by itself. See When your connection drops.
The server rejects my stream
If you use H.265 / HEVC over plain RTMP, some services refuse it. Open your profile and change Codec to H.264 / AVC, or switch Protocol to SRT, which carries HEVC without trouble.
Bonded does nothing, or only one connection is used
Bonded sends over Wi-Fi and cellular at once. It needs a BELABOX SRTLA receiver on the other end. A plain SRT server cannot bond. If your server is a plain SRT server, set Network egress to Auto. Bonded also uses mobile data. A connection line in the stats panel that says offline in yellow means that connection dropped.
My picture gets blocky, or quality drops
The stats panel tells you why:
- NET↓: your connection cannot keep up, so the app lowered the bitrate. Move to a better signal, or lower your profile’s bitrate.
- HEAT↓, HOT or OVERHEAT: your phone is hot. Get it out of the sun and off a charger if you can.
Both can be tuned in Adaptive bitrate. Turning it off keeps your full bitrate, and the app still lowers it for heat.
Buttons or the stats panel have disappeared
- The UI button hides most of the screen. Tap it again to bring everything back.
- If you also locked the screen, the whole screen ignores touches and only 🔒 Hold to unlock works. Press and hold it. See Locking the screen.
- If only the top-right panel is missing, check Settings → Stats/Info Panel. The panel has a master switch.
Chat is not showing
- The Chat button only appears once you have set up at least one channel in Settings → Chat.
- Kick: enter just the name from kick.com/<name>.
- Twitch: enter just the name from twitch.tv/<name>. No login is needed to read chat.
- Rumble: paste your whole Live Stream API link. It must start with https://. Rumble chat arrives about every five seconds, so it runs a few seconds behind.
- YouTube: you need both an API key and your channel handle, and Show YouTube chat in the overlay must be on.
- Text boxes in Settings → Chat only count after you tap Save at the bottom.
- Check the filters in the same screen, such as Hide bot messages and Hide commands, in case they are hiding what you expect.
- To keep chat and read-aloud going while you use another app, turn on Keep chat updating in the background.
Badges show ? or a dash
A - means the channel is offline. A ? means the app cannot tell yet, or the channel is live but gave no number. Twitch viewer count and uptime need the one-time sign-in under Connect Twitch to see detailed stream info. See Channel badges.
No sound, or my mic is muted
- Tap the Mic button. A slash through the mic means it is muted.
- Privacy mode mutes your mic and the Mic button is greyed out until you tap Resume.
- On the level meter, a dash instead of a number means the mic hears almost nothing. The number is hidden while the mic is muted.
I cannot find dual camera
Tap the Camera button. If there is no DUAL row, your phone does not report a pair of cameras it can run together, and you can still stream with one. See Using two cameras.
The update will not install
Your phone must allow this app to install apps. When it asks, tap Open settings and allow it. If you are live, the app warns that installing ends your stream and asks Update anyway or Not now. A test build, such as a debug build, shows Open download page and has no automatic install.
My backup will not import
- Wrong password, or the file is corrupted. Re-type the password. A backup cannot be opened without it.
- This isn’t a Dual IRL Stream settings backup. Pick the file called dual-irl-stream-backup.dirlbak that Export backup made.
- Import replaces all your profiles and settings. If it fails, nothing changes.
