A video tile is blank or will not play
Read the words in the middle of the tile.
- Connecting…: Bro is still waiting for its first check. Wait a few seconds.
- Offline: the channel is not live. The tile starts by itself when it goes live.
- Can’t play — tap to retry: tap it. Bro also retries by itself when a link expires.
- Check your Rumble API URL: your Rumble link is wrong or has expired. Paste a fresh one in Channel settings.
- Rumble unavailable: a problem on Rumble’s side. It usually clears up on its own.
- No tiles at all: the Videos button is off. Tap it.
- A Rumble tile that shows viewers and uptime but no picture: video plays only when the channel is live and your link is a channel link. A link tied to your account gives status but no video.
- A YouTube tile that never goes live: the channel must be live, and the lookup can fail. It retries by itself.
Tiles pause while Bro is in the background. After three failed checks in a row, a Kick, Twitch or YouTube tile says Offline until the next check works.
Chat is empty or a tab is missing
- Kick and Twitch: re-check the channel name in Channel settings. Having trouble connecting to this channel — double-check the channel name or API key in Settings. means the name or key is wrong.
- YouTube: you need a free YouTube Data API key and the channel must be live before a tab appears. See YouTube chat.
- Rumble: Check your Rumble API URL in Settings — it looks invalid or expired. Rumble chat is checked about every six seconds, so it lags a little.
- Custom URLs have no chat.
- Check the “Hide” switches in Chat and whether you are on the right tab.
Read-aloud is silent
- The TTS button must be on.
- It speaks only new messages. It never reads history, events or what was in chat when you turned it on.
- Check your phone’s volume and its text-to-speech engine. Speed and pitch come from the phone’s own settings.
- If you left the app, Keep chat updating in the background must be on, or read-aloud stops a few seconds after you leave.
- A banned word does not stop the message. It plays the beep, silence or quack in its place.
- No voices listed: No selectable voices found on this device — using the engine default. Use Get more voices/accents (system settings).
My alert page is silent
- The Alerts button must not be muted. A muted button is grey.
- Press and hold Alerts and check the page’s switch.
- A page that crashed shows Stopped after repeated crashes in Audio sources. Switch it off and on, or remove it and add it again.
It stops when I leave the app
- Turn on Keep chat updating in the background.
- It needs at least one channel that can show chat.
- After a restart, or if your phone shut Bro down, open Bro once to start it again.
- If you do not see the notice, check that notifications are allowed for Bro in your phone’s settings.
An import fails
- Wrong password, or the file is corrupted. Re-type the password.
- This isn’t a Dual IRL Stream settings backup. Choose the .dirlbak file made by Stream’s Export backup.
- Import failed. Try again, or add your channels by hand.
